LAC's popular item! The story behind the birth of the remade shirt!
This remade shirt has become a staple at LAC.
This time, I wrote an article to let everyone know about this remade shirt!
Whether you have purchased a remade shirt before or have never bought one but have been interested, please read on to find out how the one-of-a-kind remade shirts are made.
●Why did you start remaking shirts?
A men's flea market is held periodically with items donated by clothing lovers from all over the country. Customers' "closet garbage" is collected and passed on to the next user.
However, I wondered if there was a way to give new life to the flashy designs that couldn't find buyers at men's flea markets, or the items that were too small for Tengu Store customers.
By combining the fabric between the leftover shirts, the width of the small shirts can be expanded, and a one-of-a-kind shirt can be created. This was the idea behind the remade shirts.
When I actually tried making a remade shirt, I noticed that there were fewer parts that had to be discarded when combining the shirts.
Now that "sustainable" is becoming the standard, we would like to reduce the amount of clothing that is discarded as much as possible by reusing shirts that can no longer be worn, a Tengu Store-style "sustainable" approach.
When they first started selling, they made the shirts from men's flea markets that had not found a buyer, but the response was better than they expected, and they no longer had enough shirts, so they now go to second-hand clothing stores to buy shirts and remake them into shirts.
⚫︎Now let's take a look at how remade shirts are made!
1. Buy from a second-hand clothing store
・Sorting out the things that look good at a glance.
・Even if you think the color or design is a bit flashy, it might be cute if you make it into a short-sleeved shirt! It might even be cute if you use a different fabric! In this way, even shirts that are too flashy when worn alone can be remade into something nice!
・Once sorting is complete, the items are then sorted one by one for a final check to see if they are dirty or torn.
I spent about an hour and a half to two hours looking around. I bought 90 items that day!
・As an aside, some of the warehouses where we buy clothes don't have air conditioners, so choosing a shirt in the middle of summer always makes me sweaty.
② Wash the shirt you purchased once to thoroughly remove any dirt.
Putting it in the dryer may cause it to shrink, so be sure to take it back to the store and dry it thoroughly.
③Create a serial number tag.
Each one is numbered by hand! Proof that it is the only one in the world!
④ Consider possible shirt combinations.
This step takes the longest, but it's also the most fun. What should I match with this pattern? Would this color be better with this one? I carefully consider these things as I match them.
There are two types of remade shirts: Type A, which is cut vertically, and Type B, which is cut from the back to the sleeves. This time, we have come up with 30 combinations.
The combined shirts are sent to the factory with detailed instructions on how to combine them! Each combination is photographed and transformed into a playful shirt for adults!
⑤The long-awaited product has arrived!
It took about a month and a half to complete the product. This time, we have 30 cute remade shirts! There is no other remade shirt in the world that has the same combination. At first glance, the design may seem flashy, but it is very cute when you wear it. Wearing this shirt will add an accent to even a simple style.
